Got home from my annual trek to the Sawtooth Mountains in ID to burn milsurp powder and kill rocks.
Put a 25 round MG-13 mag in an Egyptian 8mm Hakim, and between the 13lbs and muzzle brake, you have an incredible amount of accurate firepower with very little recoil. Fun too!

It is beautiful up there, reminds me of the high country in the Sierras, only without all the people! The gun laws there make me feel like I escaped a communist country. Every year it gets harder to make myself come home.

This year we slacked off a bit, only had 30 firearms and burned up about 3500 rounds. Last year we had 13lbs of scrap brass, and that didn't include the steel cased and reloadable brass.
I got to shoot a near mint condition 1858 Remington .44, surprised me how accurate it was, and how loud! Had the wrong sized caps that caused a few problems.

I'm surprised the Hakim didn't blow his hat off- I used to own one, and I'd get a free hairstyle every time I shot it

Where can I get one of these in California? I've looked and looked but never found. Gunbroker always has them but no one ships here!
