    Pants belt used as loading stand.

    @ 9:48 But I doubt before the early 1800's people had belts. So I wonder how in the earlier flintlock era, people loaded while standing up, rather than sitting down.

    By the way he's using a 1 in 18 twist barrel (Pedersoli standard) which is why he can get those small roundball groups. Fast twist for lightly charged pistols.

        The belt has a fascinating history. Long before it became an everyday fashion accessory, it served a wide range of purposes across many different civilizations.

              Yes. Pants back then did not have belt loops. Hell, Levis jeans didnt put beltloops on their jeans untill the 1920's. Pants didnt use belts before then, they used suspenders. If you needed to carry a gun or knife, then those had a dedicated belt, but more often one would carry blackpowder shooting stuff in an over the shoulder style bag sorta like a purse. Google "Possables bag."
