My Hakim project is complete!

I bought this a while ago on gunboards.
(It was actually SVT_foxs)
Anyway it had a few things wrong with it .
The stock was rounded over on the butt and missing half the butt plate (from parade practice maybe?)
The hand guard had an 8 inch crack running the length of it and was growing weird Arab mold on the inside.
The sling band was broken off and it was missing the barrel band leaf spring
Oh and it also had no sight elevator/slider

I got my hands on a new stock and parts from Sarco and some guy up in Spokane Washington.
I sent the hand guard away to Candyman on surplusrifleforum.com
he fixed it up good as new, killed the mold and repaired the crack with some fiber glass and bedding compound.

I finally got the rifle back together, and here it is

nice, but does it shoot worth a damn? all kidding aside, hakims are cruel mistresses, i had one i got for free that had been "sporterized" it cycled reliably, but wouldn't hit the broad side of a barn, which is about opposite from normal hakim behavior; fairly accurate but funtioning nightmare. looks good, and enjoy it, i already want one again...

I get so much satisfaction leaving a rifle in better shape than i received it

Hakims are a lot of fun. They have a reputation for being very accurate. It will definitely turn heads when you take it down to the range.

I would recommend shooting Yugo 8mm. You could shoot the Romanian stuff, but it is dirtier and the burn rate is hard to adjust the gas port for.
