    Looking for pricing advice

I have two rifles that I am looking sell in the future:

Springfield M1 Garand (receiver #1634XXX) stock doesn't look original but it is in good shape, bore looks good.

Non-Matching Russian SKS (Izhevsk) stock, wood and bore looks good.

I broke my own rule to never get two of any kind but I bought these from a friend a few years ago on a whim (he was moving out of state and didn't want to take them). Never shot either.

I haven't bought any Milsurp rifles (except from from my friend) in years, so I am not really sure on the prices. I don't have a photo-sharing service, so I can't post pictures.

    Appreciate any (good) input

    Hi Dennis,

The good thing is they're worth more than you paid, by how much only you will know.

The Izhevsk is rare, even if mismatched, 3 year run I believe ('52-54) and at $800 would likely be top dollar as such.

The M1 should be able to fetch $900 plus, depending on everything.

Of course you could hold out for top ducats and prolly get it eventually, it's crazy out there. Good luck, PAX

I would be interested in seeing photos of your M1. I have been wanting to pick one up for quite some time.
If it ain't broke, keep fixin' it 'til it is...

Does the SKS still have the bayonet? Some Russians had them removed and the mounts chopped off and that will affect the value

How about the finish: blued, or sort of painted black? Any refurb marks (like a square with diagonal hash or a diamond with any marks in it)?

Does it have a chrome lined bore?

You don't need a photo sharing service to post your pictures.

Any presentable Garand that functions and is a decent shooter is at minimum a $1,200 rifle. Bona-fide Service Grades are fetching $1,800 on the market right now.

That serial number crosses to June of 1943.

Here are some pics of the OP's SKS. It looks like a refurb in nice condition, really a sweet looking rifle
