C&R FFL holders should also get a COE

You had better get your COE (without one your C&R FFL is almost usless in CA) as soon as possible. Mine took about a month. It will allow you to skip the 10 day wait on C&R handgunds and the one per 30day handgun rule. Also you do not need the new Handgun Safety (I would get one anyway) Cert. One problem I have found is many gunshops don't know the DOJ rules. If you buy a C&R handgun from an 01 FFL holder you have to give them a copy of your FFL and COE. It also helps to bring the DROS form (it's an exemption form) with you. You can get the form from the DOJ website. They are getting so many calls about C&R rules that they are making a FAQ area just for C&R transfers. Hope that helps........

I definately want to fill out the COE papers and shoot them off as soon as I can. I think I was turned off from it before, when I was reading about the livescan - not that I have a problem doing one... just that I have to schedule a time to actually get it done

Definately on my list of to do's. Matter of fact I should print up that stuff now.
