    Buying this from RTI

    Just purchased from RTI:
Italian Vetterli Model 1870/87/15 Caliber 6.5 Carcano, RTI had a sale - so I pulled the trigger. I am looking for a sling and a bayonet for this. Any suggestions where I can buy them?

    Thanks in advance!

Always thought those had a cool look to them. Very cool pickup, congrats!

I got one recently from them. Mine came in real dusty but it cleaned up nice with a strong 'AOI" Cartouche. it did have some damage in the maagazine area in the wood but thats common from this Ethiopia batch. I also had a rusty bore but cleaned it out real good. dont expect a beauty queen from RTI. Especially on thier Sale batches. The ones they put at the sale price always seem to be wonky.

As for your question, I say Ebay. The 1870/87/15 was issued at a time when the Carcano was around so any Carcano Sling should be Historically accurate. As for bayonets, I think the Vetterli Bayonets are about the only ones that fit they might be pretty hard to find.

Now time to reload some ammo!
