Help identifying 55 year old trigger

Bought a Custom Sport Mauser 98 with a VZ-24 action. Barrel had a date stamp of 9-22-67. Hence the reason I posted in C&R. Bolt has a vintage Buehler low scope safety. Action has this trigger. Looks like a Timney, but no markings. I know Timney was around then. Could this just be a vintage? Clone? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

    Yes, it's a Timney.

BTW OP, if unfamiliar with Mauser cocking piece safeties. Have it checked by someone who does.

How they're supposed to work. Upon engagement of the safety. The safety cam MUST slightly retract the cocking piece to the rear. This moves the sear engagement surface on the bottom of the cocking piece. Out of contact with the sear.

This is so if the trigger is pulled, while safety is engaged. The sear moves up/down freely and isn't holding the cocking piece. And when the trigger is reset, the REAR of SEAR, moves freely back in FRNT of cocking piece SEAR SURFACE.

If the sear/cocking piece remain in contact with the safety engaged. And the trigger is pulled. And then reset with safety on. The sear gets trapped UNDER the cocking piece. And fails to hold the cocking piece. When the safety is disengaged.

Creating a sequence where the rifle fires when the safety is turned to the fire position. Without the trigger being pulled. NOT GOOD!

Looks just like the Timney on my Polish WZ 29/Mauser 98.

              Speaking of K98 triggers.
Anyone know what this sun marking means?

Just one of the many unknown Mauser proof marks. Is it on a South American Mauser?

No, on a BYF 43. Hoping it's original and not something later.

                    Is your void of markings?
