And walked out with this SKS. It's not anything all that exciting, but it looks like it was shot seldom, if ever since it hit these shores. I think what attracted me to it was that it is the Type 56 rifle collectors have dubbed the "French tickler". For some reason that just tickles my fancy, pardon the pun.
I don't particularly collect SKS's, but then again I do have a half dozen of them, so maybe I do?
Made at the Jianshe arsenal (factory 26) in 1979. Hard for me to believe that it is now 43 years old and almost a C&R just on age alone. It is missing the cleaning rod (but I believe I have one back in Reno) and it does have the cleaning kit in the buttstock. Overall it is as clean an SKS as I have seen lately which is why I bought it
