    Two Rack Grades arrived today.

I originally mail ordered 5 to hit my limit. After seeing so many reports of some pretty rough ones I changed my order to 2 Racks and 3 Special Experts.

I am much happier with the Rack grades I received compared to the experts. I got lucky, should of stuck with the 5 racks, yes I know the other 3 might have come in trashed but to me the Specials I received had more pitting then I was expecting since the two I hand selected at the TMP were so much better. One of the specials, a 6 digit Toole rebuild has more pitting than a Service grade should have( specials are supposed to meet SG criteria I believe) and is on par or worse then these two RG's

Here my two Racks. What can you tell.me about them. Too bad the cartouched stock is chipped up at the butt. Love the single slot gas screw.

Both 50's barrels 1 is TE 2 ME 3. The other had no measurements listed but i gauged it at TE 1+ ME 2

Thats going to be a long wait. I'm more of a collector than a shooter. But I will try these two out at some point.

I would be happy with either of those. I like the single slot screw and the -1 WRA bolt.

Now I need to dig out my WRA and see what bolts in it. I'm pretty sure it allready has a WRA bolt but don't know if its a correct stepped or no step bolt. Atleast I know I'll have one to trade or sell off.

I'd say they look pretty good congrats. Wonder if they finally weeded out the rough ones and finally got to ones in better condition.
Wait! CMP told me they were shipping only in those molded rifle cases NOT the foam lined ones, you scored there also!

Sounds like the "no wood" I got from the CMP 23 years ago. 6 digit, Dec '41 SA with a '47 barrel. It's the only M1 I still have..

Actually I sticky note for the foam cases. Either they listened and granted my request, or I just got lucky. I hand selected two rifles at the TMP in June and I got lucky and they shipped in the foam lined cases as well.

Yep, ya scored cuz you can use those cases to transport other rifles where if you got the hard molded ones, you only be able use them for Garands.
                      Congrats!
