So this is my backstory.
My freind called me up today and said he has decided to not follow through with purchasing this SMLE no.4. When I was to inquest why, he stated that Rhineland Arms .45 kit was no longer available and hard to find.
Ok I figure, I guess he's going for something else
so here's my brilliant half-cheeked idea. Should I obtain this rifle and headspace it or fit in a new barrel? outwardly, she's immaculate and the seller is only asking $100 - not to mention my good fortune in having an oddly large amout of random .303brit laying about.
I'd also like to hear some input about home gunsmithing. Of course, I'll find the headspace guages like I did with the 8mm mauser (for those interested, it went well, thanks). Pretty sure I'll need basic tools like a vice, towels, screwdrivers, the rubber wrenchy thing that doesnt scratch surfaces...
What else will I need?
