The rifle was made in 1958 (top set of Arabic numerals)
It's factory applied serial number is 16804 (bottom set of numerals)

The "M35" marking is not a factory or Egyptian applied number. It was applied sometime after import...

      Interesting guns

Accepted in 8x57 Mauser because Egypt had metric tons of surplus of it after WW II ended.

        EGYPT FN49

        They also used the FN49

the Argentine model FN 49 had some 7.62x51 NATO conversions that were rebarreled , I always wanted one of those but they are not that common

Listed these out of state because of the crazy stuff going on . AG42 and Hakim went in a day. $700 is a bargain. They went for a lot more with the accessories that went with them. Have five low balers on the SVT with extra magazines and pristine bayonet.

          Happy shopping.

The AG42B is far beyond the Hakim in quality ! I have owned two each over the years.

Almost all of the Argentine FN 49's were converted to 7.62x51. Have search for years for an Argentine FN 49 still in the original chambering...unobtanium

Had a chopped hakim that i sold cheap many years ago. Shoulda kept and rebarelled it but oh well. Have a Ljungmann and it is definitely the superior piece. I'd like to collect the whole set but fell out of the game a while and the prices are way beyond what i can pay now. Glad i got a few good things while it was still somewhat reasonable.
