    For our S&W fans

Finally went through and organized so many things after our move and came across the original box, manual and receipt for my S&W 357. Dad had purchased it in anticipation of my birth in 1957.

I guess then what he paid was a decent amount considering. While his very old info is on the receipt Dad's been gone now for awhile and had moved after this purchase so I included the receipt.

I've shot this many times over the years and it's amazing how well it shoots and how smooth it is. It remains one of my favorites.

Wow! You dad will be very please what the gun is worth now. That box and targets are hard to find and it commands top premium. Beautiful!

$123 in 1957 was a lot of money. My Grandfather bought a 1950 Studebaker in 1957 for $50. He drove it to work for a couple of years. I bought a 1953 Chevrolet in 1967 for $125 and drove it for 2 years.

That is a work of art, beautiful. Cosmetically, my new S&W M17 looks very similar but yours is vintage. The box and receipt are super cool also.

Sweet. I especially like the box, and of course that the gun came with the Patridge front sight blade. My bought new 1979 is one of my favorite possessions, has the target trigger and hammer and red ramp/white outline sights.

That is cool, hope you have kids who will appreciate it when you pass all this along.

I bought my son an M1 from the CMP just after he was born. He really lucked out, got a super nice SA. We've taken it to a few CMP-sanctioned milsurp matches.

That is a gem. Even better is that it likely is undocumented, except for that small receipt. The ****ing state has no clue about it, and it should stay that way.

Back in the day the “.357 Magnum” was S&W’s premier handgun and they did little things like the checkered top strap that they didn’t do on any other of their revolvers, even the other N frame magnums.

I feel very fortunate to have a couple M27-2’s. One is still like new in it’s original presentation case, but the other is definitely a shooter.

The receipt is dated within one month of my birthday.
I really need a nice 1957 made S&W something or other.
This would certainly take care of that bucket list item.

                          Do want.
