    BP Pistols value?

I Know nothing about BP pistols. Owner died and his widow wants to sell them of course.

Never been fired. All in presentation boxes.

Can anyone give me some direction on selling price or where to start research?
    Thx

Your pics have the word Colt all over them like a rash.

Definitely worth more money than your average spaghetti gun.

This discussion of the Colt Signature Series may be of some interest:

What is the difference between the Colt Signature Series revolvers (3rd gen?) and the 2nd gen Colt revolvers? I believe the 2nd gen revolvers were a continuation of the original line, although a century or so later, correct.

                    Thanks TH.

Im really going to have to see these things myself to see if I can figure anything out.
They were bought YEARS ago... I am hoping (per that discussion you recommended) that they are those 2nd generation ones. I hope it says it somewhere.

I think about $800ish for the single pistols is about right from what I have seen, maybe $200 more to the right buyer who collects these since you have the box and they look brand new. These aren't antique originals from the 1800s, they are obviously from the last 50 years or so. They are supposed to be high quality but I have no personal experience handling actual Colt brand black powder reproductions. You might have better luck and information at a Colt collector's forum. These guys would know https://www.coltforum.com/forums/col...-revolvers.52/

Here was a quick search on gunbroker for some recently completed sales of 1860 Army models:

Colt produced some of these in the 70s for the nation's bicentennial. I think that's what you have there. I've read that they were built by Uberti but finished in the Colt factory. I have a very nice Colt Walker dragoon from the same period, which is why I recognize yours. Mine didn't come with the box but had probably been fired only a couple of times. I gave $350 about 3 years ago for mine and I think it was a steal.

Perfect! They seem to be worth considerably more than I thought they were.
                          I'll take if from here

                          Thanks everyone!
