Nothing changed as far as I know. Was the DROS ran correctly? Should be same day release.

When he input the 2 handguns, he listed them under Curio & Relic Collector/ COE. So, I’m not sure what he did differently than last time

He must also choose the "waiting period exemption type" as COLLECTOR

Do you have a copy of the DROS?

Ahhh there it is! He put “none” for waiting period exemption type. Grrrr. What a joke. Is there anything he can do to reverse it?

Point out the error and ask how he'll fix it.

Did you go and start the dros when the pistols arrived? My understanding is that the dros needs to be started by you at the local ffl, once the firearms are received locally; it does not start from the time you started the transfer from out of state. Although CA will always mess up anything guns related, just wanted to make sure the time table matches. Hope this helps.

Thanks for you input. The guns arrived the day before, and we filled out dros the day after. I should have gone home with them the minute we finished the dros.

I did just that and the issue has been resolved! Thank you guys for helping me figure this problem out. This is a good lesson to ALWAYS double check information down to the last word. My fault in this was trusting a business owners word, and not thoroughly checking the pre submittal. But hey, even they make mistakes. At least he gave me a discount on the transfer fee

He can compensate 10 days of what your value are + refund original dros fees. If he does neither, no more using him in the future. Out him so we can also not go. Clearly it was their mistake, they should make it right.

edit: I see you got it resolved and got a break on transfer fee.

He’s always been cool with me, but it’s clear he does not work with license holders often. The reason I go with him is he only charges $50 for out of state transfers, the cheapest I know of in the South Bay, Los Angeles. For this deal he only charged me $60 for both guns, so that helped. He’s in Hawthorne, but I’d rather keep his name anonymous on a public forum. If you’d like to know, send me a PM.

Very nice that he got it straightened out for you. Sounds like this FFL is a keeper!

Nice. And the transactions of the future will be done with an aura of trust and understanding.

Now, because we demand that members "out" the terrible FFLs that do horrible things, please tell us the name of the FFL that worked this out for you. Others need to know there are folks out there who can be trusted. It's good business for him (and those who live in the area).

I've listened in on the DROS in process and more than once heard "it says "Pending" told by one clerk to another, who was on top of it enough to say "you have to put 'C&R/COE' in here too" and all went well. Happens with the "one in 30" exemption for modern pistols too.

FWIW to those in NorCal, River City Gun Exchange is on top of this item. AAASports in Vallejo too.
