    Selling high ticket collectible

I just want to,pass on tip if you are selling a high priced handgun or rifle. I only have Colt handguns anymore but this applies to any other collectible. Selling is a hassle many times here on CG as many know. I recently had a NIB Colt SAA thatwas brand new in box. Put it up for sale here,No takers. Found this guy on GB who will sell for you for 15% fee. ( The man has almost 4000+ ratings)He pays all GB fees, paperwork from new buyer etc. He sends you a prepaid “ call tag “ from FedEx,you place it on box, take it to FedEx and drop it off. Takes awhile for auction startup which lasts 14 days, ending on Sunday nite. The gun I previously mentioned sold for several thousand. Almost TWICE what I had asked for here here, even taking out his 15%, I’m way ahead of what I was asking here, no Calguns headaches,no CA headaches.

Lock stock and barrel in Simi does the same. They get the 'sreisel' auction effect and have a bunch of followers who bid on their auctions. I can't remember what their fees are, probably 20%.

I like both buying and selling through LSB. There descriptions are as good as possible (knowing that no one is an expert on every subject). They tend to get very good prices for most things but, occasionally I get a deal like a beat to hell Perazzi MX12 for $1700. A trip to Perazzi USA and $900 is all it took to make it function like new. That included an annual service, new locking lug and fitting it, cutting the stock down to a normal length and a new recoil pad. I recently picked up a Moskeetoo thrower from them but, I paid dearly for it. I've only sold threw them once and they get 30%.

Lsb takes 20% on firearms and 30% on non firearms.

They also do pickups, so you don't have to ship if you're not close by.

I've seen inconsistent policies from them on GB at times. I passed up a nice rifle at a nice price, because they said they wouldn't ship an antique direct (it was posted in the "antique" area), but other antiques they say they will.

I have had a similar thing happen with a pistol that I "know" was CA legal but they wouldn't sell it to a CA resident.

Not worth my effort, or their time, to try and convince them.
After all, it is their business and license so if they didn't think it was OK then I moved on.

BTW, I have probably bought over 15 guns from them in the past and find their hi-res pictures great and accurate along with being knowledgeable and easy to deal with, especially with C&R processing.

I’ve used LS&B in the past. Very honest and professional and they come to you ( if you’re close enough) they drove all the way to OC for me. But it’ll cost 20% for the convenience.
