Mosin Nagants still in use vs Ukraine

Granted its scoped.. but unclear if the 2nd one is.

Surprised and 100% not surprised to see this. C&Rs seem to pop up in modern conflict regularly.

Ukrainians going through their caves looking for PU Snipers which would be just as useful today as they were during The Great Patriotic War

Well sure - Afghan Mujahideen were using flintlocks against the Russians that were from their war against the British. They also had stocks of Lee-Enfields.

However, whenever possible they ditched those old weapons for more modern ones. And we are talking about rebels without a choice in what weapons they go to war with.

That a government would deliberately send their soldiers to war equipped with obsolete weaponry is positively criminal. What would the outcry be here if we still had the draft. And our boys were being sent to war carrying a hodgepodge assortment of Krag-Jorgensens, Springfield 1903s, and wearing the soup-bowl helmets of Ww1?

They 'soldiers' in photos with Mosins and SVTs aren't Russian army regulars. They're separatists. Look at the helmet-- it's a SSh-68 from the soviet era. The Russian army hasn't used that type of helmet since the early 1990's.

I would say it’s more likely a war trophy find rather than Russia issued it to their front line troops.

Putin genocide by cannon fodder. Putin is depopulating donbas so he can steal their farm land and gas reserves.
