    Ballester Molina questions.

Just picked up this Ballester Molina for a good deal but have a couple of questions.

The pistol came with the rubber wrap around grips with the front strap portion cut off. Were these grips Argentine issue or replaced by the importer? I already have wood grips on the way from Liberty Tree but just want to know if the rubber grips are keepers or bottom pf parts bin.

Second question, the pistol is parkerized and I've read that all of them were blued. Was this refinished in Argentina or by the importer/previous owner?

Here are pictures and it's a National Guard issue, all matching including the magazine.

    TIA for the responses.

Originally they were blued, I have seen a few that still retained the original dark black blued finish, but most have the same black parkerized finish that yours does, including mine. My understanding is that the refinishing was done by the Argentine government prior to importation. I have also heard that some were done by the importer, so I guess that I am not much help in answering that part of your questions.

All Ballester-Molina's that I have seen had the wood grips with the vertical grooves.

Here is my Navy issue B-M

P.S. For some reason, your pictures show up on my iPhone, but not on my computer and they are skewed 90 degrees.

When I was looking for more info on my Ballester-Molina, I found pics of guns with rubber grips. Not sure if the were added state side or out of country.
I got wood grips with the "lines"

Always wanted to add one to my collection and like the other replies, they were originally blued. Very nice pistol though. Maybe I'll get one someday.

Those appear to be Bianchi grips

I've only seen and heard of the grooved wooden grips.
