    Curio FFL Question

Is it mandatory that you register your type 03 FFL to the address where you store the firearms, or can you use a business address if you own the business? In this instance, I own a business that does not have anything specifically to do with firearms, and I don't want to ship firearms to my house because of porch thefts. My business address is much more secure for shipment intakes but or course it not a firearms business. If this isn't possible, would I be able to register the 03 FFL to my home address but use the business address for receiving items?

No firearm should ever be left. Should be adult signature required. Cannot have porch theft if never left on porch.

But the carriers, FedEx in particular, do not treat “adult signature required” as a requirement, just a suggestion.

Only long guns from a seller within California, I believe? Anything from out of state, long gun or handgun has to go through an FFL01, although FFL03 + COE lets you forgo the ten day wait at least.
I bought a huge part of my collection from out of state, delivered right to my door but our overlords in Sacramento decided that was too much freedom to allow us a few years ago. Even though FFL03 + COE has
been vetted by the Feds and CADOJ. Law abiding gun owners are probably the most hated citizens by the State of California. Much more than murderers, drug dealers, rapists, rioters, etc. How dare us try to
exercise our civil and human rights!

So if I am an FFL03 + COE holder, I could just buy any 50 years old or older rifle from a non-FFL03 private party in-state without going through an FFL01 as long as I fill out the BOF 961 plus fees within 5 days of acquisition?

If you have a valid C&R 03-FFL and valid COE and the C&R transfer is occurring within CA:

If the C&R firearm is a C&R long gun, then it is exempt from needing to be transferred through a CA FFL dealer. [PC 27966]
^Within 30 days of taking possession of the C&R long gun, you are required to report the transfer to CA DOJ BOF, this can be done by submitting a completed Collector's Report of Instate Acquisition of Curio or Relic Long Gun (BOF 961) or by accessing CFARS and submitting an online Collector In-State Acquisition of Curio or Relic Long Gun Report.

If the C&R firearms is a C&R handgun, then it must be transferred through a CA FFL dealer. [PC 27545]
^Since you have a valid C&R 03-FFL and valid COE, you will be exempt from the 10 day wait, the 1 in 30 day wait, and the FSC requirement; when the CA FFL dealer transfers the C&R handgun to you.

Another equation is try finding someone who will sell you a C&R rifle cash carry, most of the time, he or she is so brain washed by CA that they won't cash carry (even if its legal) demanding to use FFL/Dros instead.

And don't forget to record all of your C&R transactions in your own bound book

You can have two different addresses on your FFL. One being a mailing address where items are shipped to and a second address which is your "premises" and where items are stored.

Having a 03 C&R FFL isn't a "business" license. You are a collector only and are prevented from using your collector license to engage in any type "business".

I have a home in OR and in CA. Most of my C&R buying is either in CA through a gun store or out of state face to face. I don't know, if I have an OR mailing address, that will preclude buying in CA through a gun store. Either as a function of law or function of "It's different and I don't understand it so my answer is 'no'" from the LGS folks.

Condition is important to me, so on line isn't my 1st choice of doing C&R buys.

I think you can get two licenses. One for each state...
