    C@rR guns and glases

I'm getting old 49 years old almost 50 in the summer.
I cant see **** on surpluss long guns at 100 meters. My favorite long guns are SKS, Mausers and Mosins. I can see mosins due to long sights radios but SKS and Mauser just forget about it. I still hit metal gong at 100 meters with eather one but guy next to me with an AR or AK with a red dot is three times faster. Of course they are using red dots. Now I have AR and Aks but dont want to take them out due confusing laws.
What are the least distirbing ways to mount a red dot on a yugo sks. To me Yugo sks are the lesser value so I dont mind to sacrifice it. Also Yugo m24/47 is cheap also, whats the best way to mount a scope on it?
Some pics, of my 1950 Tula which is no way I'm touching it and yugo which I dont mind to mod.
For examaple I put red dot on my super nova and and now I hit steel plates at 100 meters with slugs with easy. It's also my hd weapon.
    Thanks all.
PS my mal preffers 1950 Tula to all. I think its due to his parents being from east Germany and Check republic

They made a replacement rear cover for sks that allowed mounting of optics with permanent modifications. I’ll have to check if I can find a brand. It was a light blue box if I remember correctly.

Bad Ace Tactical makes rails that attach to the rear sight block without drilling and tapping the receiver. They're supposed to be pretty study but I've never used one.

Classic firearms are our passion and our focus. BadAce Tactical offers the best No-Drill-Tap (NDT) Scope Mounts on the market for M1A, M1 Garand, Mosin Nagant, SKS, Mauser K98k, M48, Swedish M38/M96, Swiss K31/1911, etc. No Gunsmith required!

I'm in the same boat with my vision. Any serious work requires glass. What I've found that works for me on the SKSs are Williams and Mojo sights. With the aperture removed, they're like ghost rings. Tech sights take more "aiming" but I have 1 SKS with a T200 installed. Any cover mount usually needs to have a threw bolt at the receiver pin, to maintain a consistent zero. PAX

I wish I was 50 again. Turned 70 last birthday. You might try progressive lenses such as Varilux. Not as good as 18 year old eyes, but you can find a sweet spot that works a lot better than 70 year old eyes.

Me too. A fella on Survivors (Rocketvapor) made eyeglasses with apertures attached to his lense. PAX

I don't know how much accuracy beyond minute of pie plate anyone can get from an SKS and cheap steel cased ammo. And I am a big fan of the SKS, btw.

Without commenting on my opinion of gun laws, I will say that they are not hard to understand as far as what is legal or not.

I actually did mount a scope on my Yugo 24/47. I used the S&K scout mount paired with a Hilux scout scope. I have not shot it yet, but it is sturdy as hell and I can't imagine it loosening up at the range. Their mounts have a good reputation and the owner / seller is very pleasant to do business with.

I don't have any gunsmithing skills, and I had a difficult time getting the rear sight ladder and leaf out. But once I did, the mount and scope were very easy to install and the eye relief / FOV is perfect.

I forgot about this project for a while, I need to take it to the range pronto!
