    Looking for old-used/antique stocks

    Hi All,

I apologize if there is another section for this question, but I thought it would be best to post here since the question is more/less curio based. I was hoping someone would have some advise on places/sites/suggestions where I could purchase really old wood or antique stocks to refurbish and restore. I just finished a project on my grandfathers Marlin 10 and a Marlin 1893. Now I'm just hooked on wood stock restoration. Does anyone have suggestions on good places where I can find pieces to purchase for projects?

I have a couple of old unfinished stocks just taking up space I'd be willing to send you. Not sure what they fit, and some are more stock blanks (no inletting for any specific firearm yet). I can probably dig out and take pictures this weekend if interested, and I'd let them go for a very reasonable price plus shipping.

There's always the uncleaned antiques from IMA.

If you're looking for essentially wood stocks to experiment with as restoration projects, try the J&G M-1 carbine stocks.

If the project turns out well, there is definitely a market for carbine stocks. Just know your market, some people like the clean new look while others like the minimally restored, more accurate look.
