Smith & Wesson K 22 combat masterpiece, price check

I own a number of Smith's, including several 17's. We always say "condition, condition, and condition", but Smiths are escalating in price and it's hard to find a decent revolver in very good condition, so who knows. Based on your photo, I would say that $1000 is on the very high end. I think your initial offer was fair. Maybe you could have gone a little higher, but if the seller is set on $1000, it wouldn't matter. Lastly, a gun show is the last place I would look to buy a quality S&W revolver. Too many gunshow sellers want more than many of the guns are worth.

I've had pretty good luck finding deals here at the gun shows in Idaho. You do have to know what you're looking at, and you are absolutely right some people think their guns are made from solid gold. :-)

Congratulations on your purchase, welcome to the K22 MASTERPIECE owners club! I think $850 was a good solid deal for you, anything more would have been a little too much. The one you got is much nicer than that other one, glad you settled on this one and worked out the deal. It definitely is a beauty!

These K22's are great shooters and very accurate, again true works of art that will last many generations to come.

That is a score, a very good one. These are magnificent revolvers (I don't have a K-22 but I do have a K-38 Combat Masterpiece made in 1980).
