But I watched Gran Torino last night. Top film. Nice garand exposure. less keen about selling mine now all of a sudden.

Wasn't that the Garand he took to the garage and had a negligent discharge?

It was the garand. He loaded it in his house then went out into the garage. Shot a hole in his tin sign.

I loved the movie, but aside from "No Country For Old Men," I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in the ending of a film.

But yeah, after I saw that film I had a whole new drive to buy an M1

Kind of agree. He was setting a great example to the kid and takign out teh bad guys. would have been more fun if he's disposed of a couple of them first THEn got himself shot to put the rest away. Also would have liked More asian presence at his funeral to the surprise of his annoying family.

Love my Garand, but a M1 carbine would have fit the role better....

...would rather he dispatched the lot of them with the garand myself. screw the prison sentence, i want justice dirty harry style! garands are neat by the by, but there's half a dozen other guns i'd rather have, and are cheaper. i'll never understand how a rifle they made MILLIONS of is worth so much more than better guns they made less of. then again, how did more people vote for obama? one of those mysteries i guess....

I'm with you guys on this. We go see a movie to escape from reality, so we want to see the good guy come out on top and prevail... unlike real life.

Nice Garand footage but poor choice to go check out something in the garage. A 30-06 will easily over penetrate. And to the original poster, its a terrible idea to sell your Garand unless is to me

I still say a CMP Garand is the best deal on the planet as far as centerfire semi-auto rifles go.
