    Big 5 Yugo M24/47 8MM Mauser

Big 5 has a sale on the Yugo M24/47 8MM Mauser - straight bolt.

Don't think you will see them any cheaper than this. These are the good old days on these type of rifles.

check shoplocal.com, big5 now uploads their ads there

they sometimes have a 10% off any single item coupons (on top of sale prices),
so you can essentially recover the cost of dros

BTW, the 24/47's used to be $119 but they included the sling, ammo pouch pair, and the bayonet. Are they still coming with acessories?

Nope... I just brought mine home on Thursday, no extra goodies. Just a crapload of cosmo.

Would you guys consider these up to the quality of k98's? I'm asking because I have been eyeballing a K98k with all the marking intact on gunbroker, pre-war 1938.

I believe Century is the importer. May I have the grade on the tag or box, RI1063 G or VG?

I bought one a few months ago. The grade was G but it was in very good shape for a G-- nice wood, bluing still intact. You'll see a lot of these with very little bluing remaining.

My box says G, but it is in pretty good shape from what I can tell so far. The wood has a bunch of tiny dings that are only visible up close, and they will probably come out with heat. All of the bluing appears to be fine under the cosmo. The only downside is the numbers are mixed, the bolt, receiver and mag bottom came from different rifles.
From the only clean spot I can see down the barrel the bore is pretty good.

RI1063 G. Went thru several to find matching# and few dings. Bore was packed with cosmo. Stock cleaned up nicely, but the barrel was crap. It had a gauge in the barrel ~2inches from muzzel. I used blue/rust remover(acid) and scrubbed the heck out of that barrel- shoulda seen the crud that came out of it. After oiling and reassembly, bought some PMC softpoints(bolt main spring a little soft) groups 4in at 50yrds...oh well, it does have a nice stock though
