    Ishapore 2A1

I just bought a Ishapore 2A1 and I need to get a sling for it and a bayonet.
I read that a canvas sling would be period correct and P 1907 is a correct bayonet for it. If I am wrong, please inform me. Also where to get these.
    Thanks

That sounds correct. What year, not that it matters. PAX

I have a repro canvas sling on mine same as my No.4 Mk1. I don't have a bayonet for mine but I believe it uses the same one as the British No.1 Mk3. Stick to NATO spec ammo of the 147 and 150 grain variety. Don't shoot high powered hunting ammo (180 grain) through them.

Dose yours still have that rubbery black paint they put on them? Mine was pealing and I couldn't stand it anymore so I stripped it off. There was a nice patina underneath. Mine also has several arsenal stock repairs that gives it corrector. Apparently India did not have a great supply of good quality wood for rifles.

Could try either International Military Antiques or Liberty Tree Collectors if looking for surplus or repro slings. I've purchased form both before and been satisfied.

They may have original or repro bayonets as well. While they can accept the older British 1907 pattern bayonet, a more proper bayonet would would be the shorter India pattern bayonet, which were either cut down from the older bayonets or newly manufactured with a shorter 12 inch or so blade.

Sarco has original WWII, post war and repro slings. I have both original post war and tan WWII repro because they are low cost and I use them on other things. My bayonets are original square pommel manufactured in India bayonets I got from IMA, but think they are now sold out. IMA also has original WWII slings but are expensive $24 compared to Sarco $7.

Maybe check Atlanta Cutlery for reproduction bayonet if you can't find one elsewhere.
