    Cool Luger accessory

I picked up this repop Artillery Luger snail drum and loader the other day in order to complete my LP08 set. I would have loved to get an original, but I refuse to sell a kidney to get one. It came with a label stating that it had passed a 32 round function test, so I am about 78.26% sure it will work in my 1916 LP08. In looking at it, I thought to myself that only the Germans would come up with such a mechanically complex magazine and only the Germans would be able to engineer it so that it actually worked.

Hope it works for you. Some repos do not work, as well as an original.

I love how the rear sight does 2 things

          Sight moves up for elevation
          And
Sight moves to the side as it moves up... so at 800m, 900m, etc the spin drift of the round is compensated for by the sight moving up at an angle

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I almost hate to say it, but with genuine snail mags going for $2500+ and loading tools selling for $500, I feel I got them for a fair price of $550 delivered.

I looked this over pretty carefully when it showed up and it has the look and heft of the real deal. Heck I tried bidding on a MGC (Model Gun Corporation) version a few months ago and it sold for over five bills.

That reproduction is nice and totally adequate for a collection!

However, there is (was) one on Sturmgewehr for $1500 - I saw it yesterday, it's a little crusty, but, I emailed a few of my friends with Lugers.

It must have worked fine in it's day as they ran a WW1 submachine gun from the Luger snail drum too.
