What is this magazine? Please help ID

Does any body, please know what kind of mag this is? I have had it a very long time. I'm thinking WW2 ? It's got a slotted base plate with aluminum follower & a thin soft spongy spring. It's got a tab of metal welded on the flat backside at 4 3/4" from the feed end & 2 3/4" from base plate. Definitely used.

I'm only guessing but it looks like some type of extended Browning Hi-Power magazine.

Other than the length, it looks very similar to an Inglis produced Hi-power magazine.

Looking at mine, the base plate and follower are identical. Feed lips look identical as well. Construction seems similar as well.

How wide is it? It could be 30 carbine. Can't tell without knowing cartridge length.

Hi Power P35 mag, the slots in the floor plate are for the old "mousetrap' ejector spring.

I tried again to put it in my Hi-Power and it fits (super tight/ slight bulge in mag). I still don't know what that little tab is for or how that holds the mag in. Thank you all for your time and knowledge. Stay safe brothers, Big Rich

The tab is to prevent over insertion.

hi-Power magazine tab

Here is a shot of a standard mag & mystery mag with my '68' BHP. The mag does not have a slot for the mag lock to lock on to. Also the tab is nowhere near the end of the mag well to be a stop. Sorry if my terminology is wrong. Thank you for any input to solve the mystery mag. Big Rich
