Definitely worth $500. Looks like it could be an Israeli in 7.62.

Something wrong with the first pic doesnt go with the others, not the same gun.

Note that those who have repeatedly expressed enough vile and incoherent content as to render your views irrelevant, have been placed on my ignore list. Thank you for helping me improve my experience and direct my attention towards those who are worthy of it. God bless your toxic little souls.

Byf is Mauser manf made in 1941. Was converted by Israelis to 7.62. I'd snatch it up in a second for $400. Thats an insane deal.

              Good deal.

I picked up one in the 80's from Big 5 - the spacer (to shorten the magazine well from 8mm to 7.62x51) they put in there - doesn't always ensure smooth feeding - but that was the only complaint I had with my Israeli Mauser.

German proof stamp on left side defaced by 3 "X"s, maybe a screwdriver or chisel.

Pass on it. If it has Israeli markings on it, the Israeli's probably stole the guns in the first place and rebranded them.

That enlarged trigger guard is usually identified as a Post War Czech made part.

The Israelis acquired Mausers from many sources and the Czechs were the main supplier of completed guns/parts.

The 98k was the most common firearm of Germany during WWII. It was used by all branches of the German military, in all theaters on all fronts, from the start of the war to the very end. It was in p…

A picture of the entire stock could help determine if that finger grooved stock is Israeli as well. https://www.gunboards.com/threads/he...y-k98.1123881/

I take it the prior owner of this and the Lee Enfield loved to refinish rifle stocks?
