What is this for?

I recently purchased a 1911a1 from the CMP.

Today I received a letter in the mail from California DOJ.(see attachments) Any clue why They would seen this to me? I am not a LEO, so none of it applies to me.

Because DOJ is notoriously confused and incompetent. Several threads relating to this already, though not ones you'd likely see with casual calgunning.

Its a notice that DOJ was required to have sent out to leo several months ago, but they're just now getting around to it.

I posted photos in the CMP thread already. Was just curious why this letter was sent to me. I don’t meet ANY of the criteria for buying or reselling, according to the letter at least.

In a nut shell, it states who is authorized to buy “non roster guns,” for what purposes they’re allowed to purchase said guns and rules on how to resell said guns.
