Sharps 1874 long range express in 45-110

I saw this rifle for sell in a Yuma gun store for under $1000 and was thinking about getting it just for kicks (literally). I think this is the gun Tom Selleck was using in Quigley Down under. What do you think?

I think brass at $64 per 20 makes for expensive shooting --- But, you could buy my used brass for $45 per 20 - It's primed too! :-)

I think the first time you see a pumpkin sized hunk of lead flying down range and smack a 10" steel gong at 500yrds, you'll be hooked.

It was perfect, I mean new looking. After researching it more I don't think it was authentic, it may be a modern copy because real Sharps are much more expensive than that. I'll be going back there monday and let you know.

a sharps 45-110 for $1000.... hummmm. be careful with this, very careful. This might be on of those rare but real deal that are a deal of the lifetime.

On the other hand there are some modern sharps manufactures that you just want to walk way from at any price.

Shiloh and pedersoli of course have good reputations. I would do a little digging before you give into the "impuls" to buy.

basically, verify it's caliber, manufacture, as much history as you can etc.

Well, heres an update. I was very disappointed but it was a C-Sharps long range custom and it was under $2,000

I personally don't know anything about c-sharps, but it's no a name I hear repeated as one to avoid.

They are also a US company.
