    Enfield MK VI

Just picked up an Enfield MK VI rig. The pistol is in great shape, unshaved cylinder and all matching numbers. Is there a website or book where I can decipher all the markings?

Also the holster has some faint writing on the belt loop that reads the following:

    T.G. Walker
    22 London
    The Queen

Where could I find Mr. Walker's service record?

    And here are the pics:

      Ask these guys:

      british militaria forums

I had some questions about my No 2 Enfields and they were extremely helpful.

It looks like it has an Australian property mark: D with <- inside it.

The holster may not be original to the revolver as the revolver is post WW1 production.

The writing seems to indicate the 22nd Queen's Battalion, London Regiment.

You can search here to see if he didn't survive the war:

Nice, nice, nice - I love the big MK6 revolvers.

There was (at one time) a couple (a man and woman) who bought the Webley sales logs and charged a small amount for research.
Again the specialist British arms sites should help.

So, it's not quite as conclusive as Colt or S+W or the Cody library - but, fun to do.
The arrow D arrow is the Australian proof, so that is cool!

Richard Milner has the Webley sales records but since this an Enfield produced revolver he may not be able to help.

Would this be a correct lanyard?

Looks good to me. Military Historical Arms used to be in Glendale and the owner is a good guy. Since the revolver was most likely a WW2 issue item then any WW2 web gear would be appropriate.
