    Colt SAA US Calvary

Here's something for all you colt fans. An original authentic US Calavary marked Colt SAA. Issued to one of three state militias, Kentucky, Michigan or Maryland. All numbers match through out and inspector marks visible. Authenticated by John Kopec. A holy grail gun for the colt collector.

It's been there, done that and probably still shoots. Very cool.

It looks like it was nickel plated at one time. I assume that it was probably done after it left government service. Is there any information as to why or when that was done?

I would love to have a gun like that in my modest little US military collection

          Love it - very sweet.
Great patina, including the flaking nickel, just adds to the storied life it's clearly led.
Cared about and fussed over, and carried, love it!
People owned one or two firearms and upkept them, had them serviced and tooled and had leather made for them, ready to use.
It was a different philosophy to nowadays, you didn't accumulate for the sake of accumulating, as if you had a mental problem, you chose the firearm carefully, saved up for it, and cherished it, lol.

I have the Colt Archives letter and a letter of authenticity from John Kopec. It survived the recall and was nickel plated after the fact. Shoot me a pm. We can talk.

That's really neat. I've only seen pictures of one, never in person. Probably best, since I would drool all over it.
