There is a High Standard forum over on rimfirecentral.com. Someone there may have access to/copies of John Stimson's serial number/production records.

Is this the same pistol that actor Robert Duvall did bad with in a 1970s movie?

I had found a pretty informative site a couple years back when I scored a nice High Standard. Just tried the link to see if it would work and be of any help to you. Unfortunately, the site no longer exists.

John posts on Gunbroker too. I'm sure he'd come up with an answer - might even know where sent.

^^^I did a Google search for JS and the hi-standard collectors group. Results indicated that John is NLA.

But it could be my g-fu is not sufficient. Anyway,a visit to the H-S forum on rimfire central should produce rhe info sought by the OP here.

A book I have, the "Standard Catalog of Military Firearms" (Ned Schwing) 2nd Edition - on page 315 - says:

"U.S. marked Model Bs will be found in both the original Model B frame and Model B-US frame."

                - and also says - "Most guns are found in the serial number range from about 92,344 to about 111,631."

But that's all I got; it would be nice to have a definitive historical guide to all the variations of Hi-Standard pistols throughout the years up to the Mitchell debacle. There were so many variants and specialty models you could fill an entire book as well as give some anecdotal background to designers, orders, politics, etc.

According to the information I have, yours would have been shipped out early to mid 1943. It’s possible it was build earlier but given that production of firearms went to the military during WWII, I would say that it’s a pretty solid 1943 build. Someone else has access to more accurate information for at least prewar guns (how I know mine were sold in St. Louis and Colorado originally), but that’s all I’ve got

from rimfire central , a gentleman there dug this up for me...

                      Hemingway thought the same.

question... I just pulled the slide off for some cleaning... is the numbers on the inside of the slide supposed to match the serial number ?
