    Romanian sks stock refinish

Hello, I want to refinish my Romo SKS stock. What color of finish would be considered "original"?

I would recommend you not refinish and keep as original as possible, but final decision is yours - just my two cents.

only original is original, re finished will deter any potential collectors from purchasing it from you in the future

How about after market replacement stock to use and keep the original stock for later use.

Would aftermarket stock replacement violate 922R?
'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

You can correct my spelling and grammar error anytime.
I welcome it. How else would I learn.

My understanding is that if it still has the fixed 10 round magazine it will still be legal.

Someone already desecrated it with a horrible finish and then put a bunch of nicks in it. Had to be the worst refinish job I have ever seen. Anyhow the iron on this rifle is brand new and all the numbers match even the poor stock. I would like to make it to as close as original as I can. I want to keep the serial numbers present and as close to the original color as possible. If anyone knows the best color of stain that would be helpful.

Your welcome. You may have noticed some of the dings and dents have gone away. You want to sand it smooth but do not take any more wood off than to accomplish that. Remember that every step will affect the end result so take your time. I'm glad it worked out for you, always has for me. JT
