The paratrooper mod is highly coveted. Especially in the basic 10round standard magazine configuration. IMO, the truest gem among all of the sks commercial mods.

What Boris said. I luvs me some Paratrooper. I've got 9 of them in various iterations. Before the plague, they could still be found reasonably priced. I picked one up out of NC in December '19 for $320. I just DROSed a Cowboy Companion barreled receiver, but had the guts to build the rifle, including the T89 mount . PAX

I have a Chicom Paratrooper in xlnt condition. It cost me a pretty penny since (according to the seller) it was actually a military issued paratrooper that jumped in with some Chinese SF guys that were a detachment from an elite airborne brigade.

Since mine didn't look to have seen much use, it was most likely carried by a high ranking officer. No paperwork, but it came with a super rare Chinese chest rig with wood buttons that looks like a definite battlefield pickup piece.

the "paratrooper models" were actually made for the VC / NVA during the Vietnam war so they could maneuver easily in the underground tunnel complex's , the VC needed a compact rifle to crawl through small spaces more easily, the cut down shorter models were quick handling and easy to stow in the cramped spaces below.

a special "Tunnels of Cu Chi model" but the war ended before they could be shipped out to the North Vietnamese

it's a very rare seldom seen SKS varient made for the Elite 514th Viet Cong Main Force BN

If I'm not mistaken, the "Tunnels of Cu Chi model" had a small spade, instead of a blade bayo. PAX
