SVT-40 scope & mount

What's a good, period appropriate scope and mount for these? The receiver on mine has the grooves on top for a mount.

Not interested in trying to find original mount or scope. Just wanting a quality reproduction mount and scope that isn't odd ball, so I can drag it out shooting again.

So far, I'm liking the Tokarev mount from Kalinka optics. Seems like a solid reproduction for $200

You should also check Accumount for the SVT40 scope and mount.

Many of the aftermarket SVT40 mounts fit kinda OK, but the mount can still move ever so slightly, so the scope can't hold target after 1 or 2 shots. I have seen guys install small set screws on both side of the mount to keep it firm against the rail. YMMV.

I don't think you can go wrong with either repro. I purchased PU scopes from Accumount and Kalinka (not the SVT40 version) four or five years ago. Both are decently made and performed quite similar. These modern scopes have better optics than the original PU scopes. If I remembered correctly, the one from Accumount had slightly thinner reticle, and scope from Kalina came in a camo bag with russian manual and a signed/dated certification. This is from a few years back, so I don't know if it is still the case today.

What footdoc said, socket head set screws towards the rear of the rails so they don't spread in the front, any marring will be in the machine finished rail groove, and no need for a locking pin groove cut on the receiver.
Kalinka or Accumount? I'd go with Accumount. If something is wrong with the scope or mount, you'll get it rectified a lot easier and faster.
