    Consignment and bound book

So I have some c&r guns on consignment at a local shop. And technically they are mine until they sell. But according to the state if I take them back off consignment I have to dros them again. My question is when do I make them in my bound book as disposed of.

If you consigned them at a 01FFL they have been already transferred to the 01FFL.

The 01 FFL entered them in their bound book on the day you consigned them.

You need to list them as "disposed" of on that date in your bound book to the 01 FFL where they are consigned.

If at some later time you DROS them back to you, you will reenter them in your Federal bound book as "acquiring" them that day.

They may still be "owned" by you until the 01 FFL sells them. But under Federal law and the rules for 03 C&R FFL's you have "disposed" of them to the 01 FFL.

Simply they are no longer in your collection, so they have to be listed as a "disposition" in your Federal book. If you get them back at some point in the future you will have to reenter them.
    Poke'm with a stick!
