    c&r pistol purchase confusion

Getting conflicting info on the purchase and who it actually has or can be sent to. I have my 03 and am looking at an out of state purchase of a cz52 from a 01 dealer and the dealer tells me they can send it directly to me and other sources say I have to have it shipped to an 01 here before I can take possesion. And then there is the waiting period, or isnt there for a c&r pistol?

Must be shipped to a 01 FFL. Then you must DROS the pistol, even then you can only take immediate possession if you have the 03 FFL and COE after the DROS has been started.

you must have it shipped to a 01 dealer. however, you CAN go out of state, pick it up, and bring it back with you (when you get back, you got 5 days to send $19 and a form to the DOJ)

All the above. I believe the out of state FFL can legally ship them to you because you're also a federal license holder. However this is the big deal. You cannot receive them while in California both because its against California law and because as part of your FFL03 you're supposed to follow local laws-so atf could take away your license. Plus other bad things

Anyway everything else above is straight on. I'm also sure (like was said) if they did send it to you and you sent the paper work in, the state would be fine--from their end (unless they had another reason to be curious) they'd have no way of knowing if you actually went out of state to get it or not.

Which dealer sold it to you directly?

Oh and I might add that for the 01 out of state, the ATF won't do anything unless California gets involved--in the past I believe they've done the civil route--like with SOG many years ago
