What the Hakim!

Got my Hakim today. Man. Thats a big rifle. Interesting the way a round is chambered, moving the action forward. Garand thumb has nothing on this rifle. How do some you like your Hakim? Do you shoot corrosive ammo, and how do you all clean after if corrosive is shot through this gun?
All in all. I LIKE IT!

I've been wanting to make one into a legal SBR....

with 25 round MG13 mags, a short barrel and a folding stock, it would be a hecuva party favor.

I picked up a Hakim a few months ago as well, and I've had a lot of fun with it. Turns heads due to the blast..especially when everyone else at the firing line is shooting small caliber rifles.

I shoot Romanian ammo through this thing, which can be touchy to adjust the gas port valve for. It is good shooting ammo, but dirty. It is also corrosive, and I always bring Windex with to clean out the bore of the corrosive salts at the range when I'm done.

Don't forget the bolt face and chamber as well as the recess where the gas tube fits into the bolt carrier. For that matter don't forget the gas tube (although I think it is stainless steel).

Just sorted out the Turk. from the Yugo ammo. Cant wait to shoot it.
