Take Down Rifle Case

I've recently picked up a few takedown rifles, Savage 1899 in 30 WCF and a Remington 81 in 300 Savage among them, and am looking for an appropriate case for them. Soft sided type, definitely not tactical type. Canvas, leather straps and such.

Problem I run into is that makers like Boyt or Allen are too long. They make around 33" when these rifles break down to about 22" each half. Shotgun cases tend to be too long too.

Scrounging on EBay sometimes comes up with something, but usually used and condition is taking a chance.

Anyone make anything new and readily available?

I have found most of my leather takedown rifle gun cases at Antique stores.

I was about to PM you until you mentioned that shotgun cases are too long. I have what is known as a leg-of-mutton case that I picked up with a Winchester Model 12 that I have no real use for. It just fits the winchester's 26" barrel so it would be longer than what you are looking for.

Maybe be patient and keep checking evilbay and see if a suitable one turns up?

Leg of mutton is the one that comes up most often, those are usually too long. Did find a soft case on eBay.

I may have to settle for the Bagmaster modern made one. They have a 25" one with some padding, slots for barrel & extras. I have an HS Precision 2 barrel takedown in one.
