    Asking for help

Friend asked me what this may be as it was left for him. Not for sale as it was his Pop's. He has no expectations and it's a keeper regardless but curious. I have zero clue except for the "obvious" so I told him I'd post on Calguns to get opinions. Thanks in advance!

A fine looking late 18/19th Century Arabian Miquelet flintlock rat-tail pistol - with a really nice looking lock and nice brass engraving. May be missing a screw on the lock (picture is small,) but that's easily remedied.

There are awful-cheap "wall-hangers" made for tourists (often posted on forums by breathless bargain-hunters), this is NOT one, your friend's is a really nice example, don't let him get side-swiped by some cretinous charlatan.

There won't be markings on the lock or barrel that mean anything unless it's a pilfered Brit or French Lock, which this one isn't.

On the value front, I choose my words carefully, but suffice to say there is a particular rich market for high-end antique middle Eastern weapons, if you can access it.

      It's an old flintlock

Sorry, can't help much more. Others may know it at first glance, but better pics especially of any and all markings would help

It is a King Tut assault weapon. It is a very rare piece. Don't sell it.

Pitfighter nailed it. That’s a clean looking (relatively speaking) lock.
Even if it was a Khyber Pass keepsake, it’s a really legit looking one.

I’d go with North African maybe Moroccan.or Libyan. The Miquelet locks were often imported from Italy or Spain.
