So I have been looking around and debating selling off most of my guns. I don't shoot enough and I would like to free up funds to pay off debt (I don't need to but I might as well while prices are high). However, I don't own a lot of C&R guns, but I noticed various C&R rifles are always available. Enfields, of any kind, and .303 seem too hardly ever be up on this forum. Are they not desired? Or are they too desired? Is it the ammo? I have been debating if I should sell off my enfield (I like it a lot, just don't shoot it that much) but with the little to no ads for Enfields, it makes me wonder if I should be holding on to it long term.

I agree. You don't see them as often and prices are all over the place.

I got a LE MkIII, a No. 4 and a No.4 sniper. I regret not getting a No.5 Jungle Carbine - over concerns of a wandering zero - it was offered like at $150 in the 80's. I acquired an Enfield L42A1 too.
The No.4 sniper is the most accurate of my collection of WWII snipers. Easy to reload for too.
The 80's were a golden era to collect old Brit bolt actions. Importing tons of them, offered for sale at Big 5 like the Mosins were in the late 90's/early 2000's. Think my MkIII and No.4 were bought there for very cheap prices.
You are going to have to wait for the older collectors to die before you see them get to the market. They are well liked additions to a collection.Comment

Lol, I totally read your title wrong, I read it as "Where are all the infidels". I was expecting a totally different thread. Sorry I have not had my coffee yet. I am dyslexic when I just wake up.https://thedeplorablepatriot.com/

Yeah they are in demand which is why you don't see them. People not wanting to sell.
As stated above, if yours is uncut and matching it will fetch a nice price. Most of them don't matchComment

I sold a No.4 mk2 a few years back thinking all I needed was my no.1 mk3
Boy was I wrong. Prices have gone up, I paid a good chunk more to pick up a no.4 mk1 and a mk1*Comment

I never much cared for Enfields when I started out. Thought they were over priced given the availability. A No.4 Mk1 fell into my crosshairs right before the end of C&R cash & carry for the general public. It was an ugly old thing that the buyer and I thought was broken because the bolt wouldn't stay closed.
Offered him $150 and took it home. Soon after I realized that the bolt head wasn't threaded in all the way. Two more turns and the thing was good to go. I lucked out there and am happy to have it in my collection given the scarcity and prices on the market nowadays."Let him that is without stone among you cast the first thing he can lay his hands on." -Robert FrostComment

I miss the 1980's, I remember people buying them cash and carry at the Great Western Show in Pomona with a belt of 303 included for under $100.

That sounds like the equivalent of picking up a Mosin and crate of 7.62x54R for around $250 at the Cross Roads of the West gunshow in Costa Mesa circa early 2010's. Which is the only frame of reference for affordable C&R collecting for many of us that got into the game at the tail end of Golden Era of imports.
