    C&R Handgun Transfer

I tried to search but couldn't find this one. When a 03 FFL transfers a C&R handgun to another individual through a 01FFL does the dealer or the person buying the handgun get listed in the bound book? I was wondering because technically the 01FFL is transferring it to the buyer. Or should both be listed?

    Thank you

The 03 selling it would list the 01 in his bound book (with maybe a note refering to the end recipient). Reason being, you are transfering the firearm to the 01, not to the buyer. The 01 logs the seller as the person he receives the handgun from in his bound book. Then the 01 logs the buyer as the person he transfers the handgun to, and if that person is an 03, they log the 01 as the person the handgun comes from.

If an 03 buyer or seller logged the private party in their bound book as the transferor/transferee, then you would have up to 3 sets of books that could be logging the set of transactions differently.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

+1 Asked the same question to the BATF and that is the answer they gave. I also note in my book who was the seller, just for my own record.

So how do you go about getting permission to keep your book on computer? Where did you get your bound book?

        Thanks

There are PDF and excel bound book pages floating around online that you can print out and put in a folder to be your BB (a BB does not ahve to be actually "bound").

IIRC, ATF recently ruled that you did not have get permission to use some of the approved BB software programs to maintain your BB.
