    Form 4100A

The form asks for Date acquired - would that be date I took possession or date I brought it into California, which is more that 5 days?

Date Acquired = the date you took possession of the C&R firearm

So say you buy a C&R handgun at the beginning of a 2 week vacation in Texas and drive back to California. That's well over 5 days. If you file within 5 days it hasn't been brought into California.

Exactly - so I guess I need to file if its my intent to bring it to California.

Use the online form, it allows you to enter the date that the gun came back to CA

As required by CA laws [PC 27565(b)], it's 5 days when the C&R firearm enters CA.
^The 5 day window does not start when you acquire it, it starts when you bring it into CA.

                1. Go to CFARS.
                2. Log into your CFARS account.
                3. Access CRIS (California Reporting Information System).
                4. Select and complete the Curio or Relic Firearm Report.
                5. Submit it with payment information.

Hi Quiet, That is great. My additional questions are:
                  1. I have more than one to report - Do I fill out the form for each and then I believe the fee is $19 x the number of reports>
                  2. By submitting online I don't see a section to pay - do they bill me?
Thank you for all your help!
