Yes, sounds interesting. Please post up pics when you get a chance. Tape over any serial numbers as um, certain internet search programs, are connecting serial numbered firearms to posters and doing who knows what with those images/data. B.

Are you trying to establish a value for insurance purposes or are you trying to find what they would sell for?

The difference is that for insurance I would list the full replacement cost for the reproduction firearms. If for sale, I would think that if the reproductions are still in like new condition, they would be somewhere around 75-80% of new cost. For instance, Cabelas lists the Lemat new for $899.99, so insurance value would be that amount. Used value for an unfired, like new LeMat would be $675-$720. The same rule would apply to the Harpers Ferry Model 1855. However if you really want to sell them, you should be prepared to be flexible on the price.

We would need far better pictures and description of the Winchester to give any sort of realistic estimate of it's value. The serial number indicates it was made in 1909 and from what I can tell from the pictures it is in well used condition

That Harper's Ferry doesn't look like it's even been shot...

Armisport made a replica of that gun and new it goes for just over $1k...if that can be verified as an original then you're talking quite a bit more. I'd take it to someone knowledgeable about such things.

The only problem with that 1855 is that if it is a restored original it's value would be cut in half over a nice original. There is an original Harpers Ferry Model 1855 currently for sale on Gunbroker starting a $2450 with no bids.

I find it hard to believe that one is a "real" Model 1855. I think that it may have had the foreign proofs removed, a process called defarbing. It is quite commonly done a Italian black powder pistols. I would want to do some thorough research before I would commit myself either way.

I might be interested in the Winchester as I recently got bit by the lever action bug after recently acquiring a 1888 vintage Model 1873 and a Marlin Model 1893 made in 1900.

I saw that one as well, and to me there are a few differences that stand out in the lock area, such as the shape of the drum and hammer and the the depth and crispness of the stampings, unless those were restamped in the process. I wonder if the tape priming system works?
