Model 1917 Eddystone

A local gun shop has two of them. asking price is 899. They are in so so condition. If that is a sucker price i will keep looking. Seems 700-750 is about right ? Turners had a nice one on consignment four years ago for 350 and i had already spent all my mad money.

The person asking $899 may be smoking crack, but the person selling a mint 1917 right now for $350-$400 is smoking meth

Keep an eye on WTS over on CMP Forums and even better put up a WTB ad

$650-$750 is normal

I snagged a decent one for $450 about 4 months ago at a gun show and considered that a "Well at that price I have to buy it"

He had a $750 tag on it, marked to $650 and it was the third or fourth show he had it on the table. Was selling it for a widow and it was the last piece left and wanted it gone. It was one of those last day, closing up the show deals.

Turners has had a couple of nice ones, I hesitated and they were sold. I ended up paying same for one not as nice

If it’s clean and what your looking for take it even if you pay slightly more for it, also found the .303 P-14 so m good.

I have been looking for a few years but not real hard. Last one I found they wanted $1000, nice but not that nice. I have a hard time with anything over $600. I did buy his excellent PP WII Pistol with holster for $600.

US Model 1917's haven't commonly been available for that kind of money for many, many, many years.

700-750 is about right for "normal" buying conditions. Unfortunately today's sales atmosphere is anything but that. If the rifles are in serviceable condition, I'd say they're a good deal for "What's available today".

I bought my M1917 at the beginning of the year before panic buying set in for 750 at a Cabela's of all places, so you are right in that's what the normal market value is at.

As for the prices of getting an M1917 for 300-400, unless your counting butchered sporter jobs, those are prices that were before I was even born.

I got mine for $10.

OK, condition wasn't great. Had a cracked stock and handguard.

And it was in 1963. Almost 6 decades ago.

Eddystones will be the least expensive followed by Remington and Winchester being the most expensive. It all comes down to original finish or if it has been rearsonaled and if the original bluing is present and if the barrel is original. I have seen all original WWI condition models selling for around $1500.
