What do I have here, found these stashed away probably 10-15 years old???
Probably all three copies, USMC for sure.

They look like M1D cheek pads but can't tell much from the small pic. Can you get a better pic of the end of the stitching and what are dates on them? The center one might be a genuine one. The two outer ones look like repops from what is visible.

The center feels like better quality leather too.

I have an original M1D and an M1C I made up from a CMP Barreled Receiver. The M1D gets the best one and M1C the other.

I'm far from being an expert but what I have read is the gray inserts point to an original rest and the stitching at the end is another tell tale. For most repros the stitching is straight at the end, but the the original ones have a a triangle at the end like the 2 you have the close up of.

I will do a search but remember something about the 1976 dated rests but can't remember exactly what it was.

Here is the thread I remembered talking about the '76 dated pads but most of the pics are gone now.

It seems the '76 pads could be a late contract group.
