Been trying to log on and CFARS says I don't exist. Even my e-mail address, which they just used to send me an e-mail, doesn't exist with them when I request log on/password info.

My log on info, which sailed through about 30 days ago, is now no good.

I applied to renew my COE almost a month ago, checked yesterday on status only to find out I forgot CDL attachment. I have 7 days left - what to do?

Am I OK so long as I get the info uploaded and app submitted before expiration date?

Send them a email with phone #, with all other info

My coe took 2 months, i sent an email with info, was renewed 2 days later. Not sure if the email speed them up

Passwords and entering info is a task on the website

How much of a PITA is it to attach the photo? Looks like I can log on at home with stored name/password - which is exactly the same as what I'm entering at a work computer.

CFARS is the biggest PIA! I sometimes wonder if they purposefully make the system suck to discourage gun ownership...

A couple things that I've learned that help:

1. when logging in always use Google Chrome. I don't like using Chrome in general, but I ran into a similar problem when renewing my COE last year. The DOJ contact told me to use Chrome and it started working.

2. always make sure you login and change your password every 80 days. The system automatically cancels your password every 90 days. I try to make a note of when i need to log in to change it, but I've still gone past the 90 days and had to go through the process to change it. It really sucks when you answer your security questions and you're just slightly wrong like not using a capitol letter, etc.

I seem to remember there is a 30 day grace period after expiration where you can still get your stuff in before they make you reapply from scratch and get a new live scan, etc.

I have 3 separate CFARS accounts. They made the 3rd one for me without even telling me. The last time I'd issued a FSC it worked fine under my one account. Logged in a couple months later and they'd set up a separate account for my FSC Instructor stuff. I only found out by doing the "forgot username and password" option.

I just skipped out on work for a bit to update (holiday bonus was a 1918 BAR - very understanding boss ) and am using Chrome - looks like all went well. Log on fine, CDL uploaded. E-mailed them my CDL and identifying info just in case. Application status now reads "Completed" - so glad to be blessed as worthy to apply by the state.

Agree on the discouragement factor. IIRC DOJ went from mailing renewal to electronic without much notice, or any notice. I wonder how many dropped off because of that. Now this PITA set up that works on one computer, not on the other. My name, password work fine on Chrome, not at all at work.

Update: Just checked, went through - renewed for another year. That was quick.

My renewal seems to be stuck. Of course I forgot to attach my DL photo and it was rejected in 12 hours. Now 16 days later it's still "INPROGRESS." Phones are ringing off the hook over there (guessing it's just lunch time).

Have you logged into CFARS for status? You are just over the 2.5 weeks in business days which I experienced.
