Chinese Mauser on lockdown

Got this Chinese Mauser from Dennis at Empire Arms and just had a chance to pick it up from my FFL

No beauty queen but I'm a sucker for rack paint and the price was right

Mostly matching. Description said "un-numbered bolt" but there was a stamp under the grime and not too far off the rest of the rifle

Bore looks like a sewer pipe, we'll see how it cleans up. Stock in good shape save for a chunk missing toward the muzzle.

Lotsa character there. I don't own Mausers because of Sp-Am, Korea and WW1&2. But Paul Mauser was a genius. Deserves to be on the Mt Rushmore of weapons designers. Who else would be up there? Browning, Schmeisser....

Looks like a Model 1935 with a Hanyang Arsenal crest.

Swastika acceptance marks are good luck symbols. Nothing to do with Nazi ideology.

Hopefully it came with a cleaning rod. Does the nose cap have a hook on it like a GEW 98 for the sling?
