    Quick range trip

Just before my recent surgery I picked up a package deal of two Swede mausers. I posted information about them when I got them.

Today I had a chance to take them to the range. I always forget something when I go so this time I left behind the file, hammer, and brass punch. The 96 needed the front blade drifted and the 38 has an extra tall aftermarket blade which isn't needed because the rear leaf starts at 200 meters instead of the usual 300 meters but I was going to file it to get a 200 meter zero. No tools so only shooting on this trip.

The 96 shot way high as expected and about 6" to the right but with 140gr flat base bullets it shot 1" groups at 100 yds with a gusting wind.

The 38 grouped a bit bigger, maybe 1.5", same ammo and distance. it has a thread protector which I should've removed to see what that would do to the group.

Both appear to be rebuilds with disks stating zero wear and 6.49 and 6.50 diameter bores.

Once again the club was just about empty so it was a nice day at the range.

No target pictures? Blasphemy! I had intended to shoot the Mauser I picked off of you years ago last month, however, COVID had other plans.

Very nice. My club has been deserted as well so I can show up, unlock the gate and go in and nobody else is there. Very peaceful.

I have 3 Swedish Mausers as well as a Ljungman. If any of you catch me ever selling them, call the police because something is wrong
