Thanks for the heads up! Might have to pick one up for the heck of it if the price is right? I'm guessing/hoping that the price would be lower than that of the Inland carbines?

I see that they have a blurb about the Austrian carbines also but no list like the Bavarians?

I would say that these are very collectible based on the lack of supply and value has been mostly higher than similar grade, high production carbines. The condition tends to be excellent also. CMP may change all that if they have a huge supply?

Would they still have the markings on them from the manufacturer?

According to the linked information pages, the Army has released 6-7 thousand to the CMP.

With only 6-7 thousand being released, what are the chances of scoring one?

Yep, they are USGI carbines. Bavarian and Austrian are different in their markings but all are USGI.

I saw one of the Bavarian carbines when I was in Germany in the 70s. It had a cool spring loaded cheek piece that would pop up to aid sighting through the low power scope mounted on the carbine. It was a sort of close range tactical police carbine. The local fuzz was shooting it at the kaserne rod and gun club that I used.
